Young Money Rapper Tyga, is a proud father now

New Baby Alert!!

Just months ago, it was announced that Young Money rapper Tyga and former King Of Diamond stripper, Blac Chyna were expecting and now the baby has arrived. Yesterday, the couple welcomed a 7lb baby boy name King Cairo Stevenson and shortly after the baby’s birth, pics of the newborn where shared via instagram and twitter.

Blac Chyna shared the news with her followers by tweeting, ’40 long weeks…So happy, words can’t explain!!!’ and Tyga followed it up with a tweet that said, ‘Most Amazing Feeling Ever. #2Kings.

The baby’s birth comes on the heels of a big purchase made by Tyga which suggests he may be getting ready for the family life. Recently, he purchased a $6.5 million, 9,279 square foot mansion in Calabasas, CA which features seven bedrooms, eight baths, a movie theater, pool, spa, waterfall, tennis courts and gym. A word for my siatas - Find the GOOD Man for You!

Life never seems to go according to plan; at least my life doesn’t. I graduated this past May. I was supposed to graduate with a job offer somewhere exciting like NY, DC, Chicago or Atlanta. Instead, I graduated with a summer internship in NY. Okay, not exactly my plan but I’ll take it.

I was supposed to rent an apartment in Manhattan with a roommate and explore the city. You know, be in the middle of the “big city, bright lights” action. Instead, I stayed in my cousin’s basement in Jersey City and caught a bus and two trains to my internship each day. Okay, still not my original plan, but it was free housing and I still had a wonderful experience.

During the summer I applied for job after job up and down the east coast. I was supposed to land a great job, excellent pay, move to a new city (if not NY) and, well, just be fabulous. Instead, I received a remote-editor position with a salary, not great but livable, and ended up going back home to save money before finally moving. Okay, yet again, a little different than I expected, but at least I can move to an exciting place, as long as my salary affords it, with no obligations.

Before going home, I visited my boyfriend and explained to him how down I was about my situation. I thought when I’d left at the beginning of the summer I would only return home to get my car. I just knew I was out of school, out of that city and never looking back. Yet, there I was preparing to go back home; going back to the same place, same people and surroundings like I’d never left. And do you know what he said to me?

And I quote, “Somehow, you always find the negative.” Okay, not the response I was looking for, but the one I needed to hear. It made me stop and think, do I really only see the bad things? At first I protested, but once I came to terms with the fact that I was in denial, I found my answer to be yes.

Hello, my name is Shala and I am negative. It even hurts to type it.

When I graduated I was excited about going to NY, but a part of me was disappointed that it wasn’t for a full-time job. Negative. The reality is that I should’ve been grateful to have any type of income coming into the awful economy we’re dealing with. Positive.

I had this idea of NY and my stay there, but my living and commuting situation dampened my spirits. Negative. I got the chance to live FOR FREE, work in Soho, meet so many great people and have one of the best summers of my life. I was blessed to do what many others could not. Positive.
I didn’t want to go home and feel like a failure because I was “going back.” Negative. I was headed home, again, to live FOR FREE, save up money and then drive across the country to live in any city my heart desired because I have a work-at-home job. Positive.

My life never seemed to go according to plan because I was looking at my own plan instead of God’s. Then I’d end up disappointed and seeing things in a negative way instead of the good He meant for me. Everything is about perception; if we see bad, it’ll be and feel bad. But if we choose to find the good in seemingly negative situations, our entire outlook will change.

So today I encourage you to see the good no matter what. Everything happens for a reason, and if we search hard enough we will discover something to be thankful for. I’ll start: I had a negative mindset, but I’m thankful someone cared for me enough to correct me so that now I can say “Hello, my name is Shala. I am positive and I find the good.”

Justice For Aluu Village

Cousins, IIyod aka Big L and Ugonna
I am sure by now some of you have watched the video of the brutal beating death of the four University of Port Harcourt students - Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka, by the indigenes of Aluu community in Port Harcourt. If you haven't watched the video, please don't bother. It's the most gruesome and the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen. It will break your heart.

Now I'm convinced that we have lost our souls as humans. The youths of this nation did this. People's children. Beaten till they were unconscious, then set on fire. They said they were robbers...were they really? Even if they were, is this how to treat another human being? Are we this barbaric in this country?

Two of them were even cousins. Ugonna and IIyod. Both of them were upcoming rappers. Big L was the winner of a popular Rap Contest show on SilverbirdTV PH called 'Turb Show'. I have listened to some of his songs...I'm devastated.

We the youths of this country demand that the River State Government look into this matter and arrest everyone in that video. Except the government want to tell us that they have given the youths of Aluu power to arrest and kill indiscriminately. The Rivers government MUST make a scapegoat of the people who did this so it doesn't repeat itself. Next time, it could be my brother or your brother. My child or your child! We can't let this happen again.

So let's start a campaign #justiceforaluu4 until the Rivers States government does something about this!

Christina Milian Engaged?

Two times may be a charm for Christina Milian.

Last night, she was spotted out at Mr. Chow’s in West Hollywood with her boo Jas Prince and if the rumors are true, they are engaged.

According to sources, Houston, Jas (the man responsible for discovering Drake) not only spoiled Christina Milian for her birthday with a ton of gifts like Isabel Marant sneakers, Celine handbags and Christian Louboutin boots, but he also put a rock on her finger. The two hit up Houston a few weeks ago for a party at Club Dekan and where spotted hugging and kissing all night in VIP while Christina showed off the brand new ring.

Apparently, her ex hubby The Dream has a new fiancee as well and this would be his third time getting married if he was to go through with it.

Rihanna finally got he man she loves back!

Sometime In August Rihanna told Oprah
"He's in a relationship of his own, I'm single, but we have maintained a very close friendship ever since the restraining order was dropped. We just worked on it, little by little, and it has not been easy. We built a trust again and that's it. We love each other and we probably always will and that's not anything we're gonna try to change. It's awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me... I think he was the love of my life."

Two months later, she's back with the love of her life. I sincerely feel sorry for Karruche.

Miss Bum Bum Pagent.

What won't we hear? There's a contest in Brazil called Miss Bum Bum pageant and it's a nationwide contest to find the woman with the best butt in the country. For wetin naw?

The event website claims that a recent Spanish survey indicates that 81 percent of men favor women with curves and couldn’t care less about cellulite. Men, na true?

The pageant will hold in Sao Paolo in November. Is this not like...objectifying women?

Chanel goes Coco with their new bag!

Who would wear this bag?

Earlier this week, Fashion house Chanel made news after they premiered a new unique Hula Hoop bag during it’s Spring/Summer 2013 show. Now, if you are wondering, where in the world would you even rock a bag like that [a crowded event #FAIL waiting to happen], designer Karl Lagerfeld recently explained the influence behind the design:

“It’s for the beach. You need space for the beach towel. And then you can put it into the sand and hang things on it.”

How silly..

The Williams Sisters Come To Lagos

As part of a planned African Tour, International Tennis champions, Serena and Venus Williams are scheduled to visit Lagos from Tuesday 30 October to Friday 2, November 2012 as part of the first leg of the recently launched ‘Breaking the Mould’ (BTM) campaign, a women’s empowerment initiative that has already garnered international support.

While in Lagos, the dynamic duo will inspire, motivate and mentor a broad range of audiences through a series of supporting initiatives which include; a gala dinner, a tennis clinic and an exhibition match which will also be the first time the sisters will pit their strengths against one another on the tennis court anywhere in Africa.

This will underpin BTM’s mission to recognise and acknowledge the role that women play in shifting perceptions and encouraging development on all levels across the African continent.

Connect Marketing Services, Octagon SA’s West African affiliate (the architects of BTM), is coordinating the Nigerian element of the Williams Sisters’ tour of Africa. Tunji Adeyinka, Managing Director of Connect Marketing Services, says that ‘‘Breaking The Mould is an inspiring mechanism to help women at various life stages of their lives - embark on a journey of self-belief so that they can know they can achieve anything. The message of the African Tour by the Williams’ sisters will resonate with African women as a whole, who are often the champions of change and encourage more women to do the same. Indeed, we are proud to implement Breaking The Mould in Nigeria.”

Despite the high profile nature of these events, fans and followers of the dynamic duo have the opportunity to WIN special invites to the gala night, tennis clinics, and exhibition match. All any interested participant needs to do is like the NigeriaBTM page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/nigeriabtm) and also follow @nigeriaBTM on Twitter (www.twitter.com/nigeriabtm) for more details on how to WIN tickets.

This event will really boost the image of Lagos state a global sports tourism location, and raise the global profile of all participating brands.
